Get ready Hi-Line!
Next week DRMT is spending the week in communities along the Hi-Line to learn about disability culture in northern Montana
I am really excited to be headed to the Hi-Line next week to show the Sundance award-winning documentary Crip Camp and discuss disability culture and belonging in rural northern Montana.
This isn’t just a movie about history, it is a crash course in disability culture and advocacy that helps us have a conversation about where we want to go from here. It maps out a path towards systemic power and radical transformations of law and policy. It is up to us whether we want to use that map. It is a movie that sparks thought, conversation, and hopefully CHANGE! We can make Montana a place where all people feel like they belong. But only if we show up and advocate. That starts with imagining what is possible and I think this movie is a masterclass in kindling the imagination to consider what is possible.
If you are in the area, I would love it if you would join me and your neighbors for a movie and conversation that should be quite eye opening and energizing.

(and you should know that when I say free, I mean free, there is no hidden ask for donations, that’s not how I roll, I have lived a lot of my life not having money and not going to events that said they were free if I suspected their would be peer pressure to give money anyway)
